Supplementary Material to "Revealing process and material parameter effects on densification via phase-field studies"

This supplementary material contains notebooks showing the detailed analysis of the processed data to reproduce most of the figures within the paper, as well as some additional analysis not contained within the paper. Furthermore, videos of the time evolution of selected structures are deposited as well. The initial ~5s of each video generally show similar simulation times, with major differences occurring afterwards. The notebooks and data are hosted on https://gitlab.kit.edu/marco.seiz/process-mat-influence-sintering as well, with a Binder for quick trialling being available via: https://mybinder.org/v2/git/https%3A%2F%2Fgitlab.kit.edu%2Fmarco.seiz%2Fprocess-mat-influence-sintering/HEAD Following is a short descriptive list of the individual files: analysis.ipynb: Contains most of the analysis, i.e. pressure influence as well as the variation of mobilities. strain-analysis-creep.ipynb: Contains the analysis relating to creep. helper.py: Collection of utilities for calculations, labelling and meta information. data.zip: Contains the processed data of all simulations being analyzed in the above notebooks. Files ending in .dat generally describe properties of the whole domain and files ending in .npy phase/grain-specific information. For the specifics, look into analysis.ipynb. GG*webm: Simulations with unsuppressed grain growth, with the Dgb/Ds specifier showing the factor which is multiplied to grain boundary diffusion (Dgb) or surface diffusion (Ds) relative to the base case (no specification of Ds, Dgb). Shown is the grain boundary network (blue), isolated porosity (grey) and detached porosity (red). noGG.webm: Equivalent to GG.webm except that grain growth is kinetically suppressed by choosing a smaller grain boundary mobility. fcnew.webm: Sintering simulation of a freeze-cast structure, with the grains being rendered as a copper-like material. Dark areas (lines) between the coppery regions generally indicate grain boundaries and higher order junctions.The research was funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft under grant numbers NE 822/31-1 and RH 146/1-1, with the simulations being performed on the HAWK supercomputer at the High Performance Computing Center Stuttgart as well as on the bwUniCluster at the Steinbuch Computing Center in Karlsruhe.
